Post: Fuel Injector Pump leaking I have a Long tractor and noticed that my fuel injector pump is leaking. I have attached a photo with the link below in red. Not sure how to fix this? Is there a repair kit or something? Fuel Injector Pump leaking Don't know about a repair kit, you'd have to tear down the pump I'd think for that and for my part I wouldn't want to tackle that. Just wondering though, when's the last time you changed the primary fuel filter? Looks like that one has been on there for a while Fuel Injector Pump leaking From what I've read online there's no repair kit per say, just a matter of taking the old off and getting it rebuilt or replace it with a rebuild.
Fuel Injector Pump leaking Okay great thanks. That is expensive! This old tractor set outside for years before i got it. It has been nothing but fix things on it since then. The cheap initial price is not starting to get expensive. Any band aids I could do to slow the leaking on it for another months before i have the money to get a better tractor? Fuel Injector Pump leaking I don't know of any short fix, certainly nothing you can put in your fuel. If it's not leaking too bad I'd just go with until you have the funds.
Fuel Injector Pump leaking That's not good.
I couldn't put in rubber sealant on the outside to help or anything? Reason why older tractors especially the ones that are not made anymore like Long get to be to expensive to keep.
Fuel Injector Pump leaking lespaulsf, I've got the same problem with my I believe it is seepage around the two stems. My main problem is the gasket on that thin metal cap is failing, at just hrs on a model.
I plan next week to unhook the linkage and remove the two holding fasteners and make a new gasket. I think the leak around the stems may be from deteriorated "O" rings. I will let you know as soon as I remove that cap. If it is "O" rings it may be a simple fix but you will need to get or make a gasket. You can get the "O" rings at harbor freight or any hydraulics repair shop for must less than replacing or rebuilding a pump.

The parking brake does work, but nothing for the pedals. How do you replace the brake bands? There does not appear to be a cover you can remove to get to them. It looks like you have to remove the back tires and then remove the axel housing on each side to access them.
Please tell me there is an easier way. Any directions on how to replace the brake bands would be greatly appreciated. Back to top. No other way friend. Axle housing has to come off.
You do have the free play on pedals around an inch or so. So I am assuming the rear wheel will have to come off and then the rear axel housing. Is there oil behind the first axel housing or is there a secondary housing inside that contains the oil. Do I need to plan on replacing any oil seals, gaskets, or bearings while I am doing this? Yes, remove wheel, and depending on what lifting equipment you have remove the fender and axle together or remove the fender and then the axle housing.

I spoke with the guy briefly over the phone about it and its a 73HP diesel with loader, 4WD, and canopy Front tires are new and rear tires are loaded. He said it has about hrs on it So I am not to sure if he's pullin' my leg as far as honest hours but he did claim he put roughly on it when he bought it If any one could give me some advise on what to look out for on these tractors and what a reasonable price would be for this tractor.
Thank you. Last edited: Sep 26, Nov 18, 2. I have a 60hp 2wd hours, i havent had any major unexpected problems, but all ive ever done is pull 6ft bush hog. But, im gonna sell to get a 4wd with FEL.
PARTS For UTB-BUILT LONG TRACTORS
Id guess for one you are looking at. Last edited: Nov 18, NecredNov 18, Feb 13, 3. The Long is a 4cyld. The H. The loader on the longs are made decent and durable. Most Longs have tach wows the cable or the tachs just don't last. Another weak point is the hydraulic pumpbut if you change the fluid and filters and careful not to run them low they are fine. With any tractor maintenance is the KEY oil, hydraulic fluid change and fuel filters, ect.
The tractor your looking at is strong and dependable if it has been maintained. Check for injector leaks as well as any play in the water pump by pulling in the fan a little, also any play in the front end.
And make sure the P. Longs sell cheaper then John Deere and Fords a lot cheaper. Good Luck. Dec 3, 4. Have a and the clutch does not engage.
