Her father must be dead if you want to adopt her. So I killed her father, yet neither herself or her sister ever go to the orphanage. They just stay at home acting like the father is still alive. Anyone know why? I have all DLC. Never worked for me. Tried several times including going Way way back to a save from much earlier in the game and the results were the same unfortunally, tried it with the mother at left hand mine and no going to the orphanage. I have noticed that the bodies don't seem to disapear of those parents.
Think that might have something to do with it. Usually if you kill a child's parent whether they witnessed or not they will not be adopatabe for you, because you killed their parent. If their father had died from, say, a dragon attack, then you'd be able to adopt them at the orphanage Adding additional info.
This bit of info is straight from the Adoption page:. If the child's parents are killed by the Dragonborn and the crime is noted by the guards or observed by the child adoption may not be possible.
Children may be "aware" that their parents were killed by the Dragonborn even if the crime was committed while hidden, rendering adoption impossible. No that doesn't affect my senario. I did the kills stealthily. I believe it's something to do with a glitch where dead bodies don't disapear. I have th blacksmith's wife in Dawnstar lying dead still after several months also. It should work I killed Braith's parents when she wasen't looking, and got arrested for it but I was syill able to adopt her.
I also did the same thing with Dorthy in Riverwood and adopted her too. I started a fight with him and immediately stopped when the guards fined me. But since he hit me, Shadowmere attacked him and killed him.
No penalty to me. Sissel and her evil sister ended up at the orphanage and I adopted Sissel. Problem solved. Honestly, this doesn't happen for me. I usually target a kid, attack him with a follower, and let the follower finish.
Something else to note, I had accidentally slain Alvor while fighting a dragon, and Sigrid was slain by the dragon, but even though I had killed one of her parents, Dorthe was still adoptable, she just didnt go to Honorhall, she stayed and became homeless. It doesnt matter if you kill only one parent, but it does if you kill them both.Sofie is a Nord child who wanders around the streets of Windhelm selling flowers from her flower basket.

Alternately, you can either politely decline or rudely dismiss her, to which she'll answer "Oh, I If you inquire about her parents, she'll inform you "They My mama died when I was little I don't remember her very well.
My father was a Stormcloak soldier. One day, he left and I'm all alone I try to sell flowers so I can buy food. It's not much but You will then have a dialogue option to adopt her. Sooo, I've been wanting to adopt SisselI killed her father and then went looking for her. I noticed that her and Britte weren't running about, so I went into their home, and Britte was sitting alone at a table. No Sissel in sight.
I don't like Britte, so she's out of the picture. And I've even looked in the orphanage. I made sure I didn't kill Lemkil in front of either of them. JClarke Well-Known Member. You aren't saying what platform you're playing on? Gigapact Lollygagging Milk Drinker according to guards. Yeah, not sure what you'd do on that one. Well, children can't be killed in this game, so I'm pretty sure she's not dead. I would fast travel to a few different places to allow her time to get to Honor Hall.
Then, I think your best bet is to wait until night until midnight, then wait one more hour to 1am or to 3amand by this point most people should be sleeping in their beds, including Sissel.
If I can't find people, this is normally the method I use, especially with assassinations. However, if you still cannot find the girl after fast traveling to a few different places and waiting a day or two like I have to do with my own adopted kids to show up at my Lakeview manor homethen she just might be gone Although, are you on PC? If so, I'm sure there's a world full of options, but I don't know them.
Even though you didn't ask, I figured I'd share. I adopt a girl and a boy. The girl I always adopt is either Lucia in Whiterun, the one that her parents died and she became a beggar, or I adopt Sofie from the Gray Quarter in Windhelm. She's the one who goes around attempting to sell flowers because she's alone. Those two always get to me, so I buy her flowers and give money to the other girl. Then, I go ahead and pick one.
For the boy, I always adopt Blaise from Katla's farm by Solitude. I pick him because the boy is tough, yet grateful. He was treated badly by Katla after his parents died and worked to his bone. Now I give him a decent salary and shower him with gifts and a bed. Also, he doesn't have that ugly long hair like most of the other boys. EDIT: I also forgot you killed her parents.
Hopefully, that didn't do anything to mess it up. I do know that once you adopt them, if you kill your spouse, no matter where you do it even miles and miles awaythey still somehow know. They will treat you coldly for a while, but then get over it eventually.Sissel is a Nord child living in Rorikstead.
She is the daughter of Lemkil and has a twin sister, Britte. Their mother died after giving birth to the twins and Lemkil now takes his frustrations out on his daughters, a fact that worries the small community to no end. Sissel wakes up every day at 6am and immediately exits the family house. Britte, however, will be quick to follow and Sissel then spends her entire day on the run from her bullying sister.
This goes on for twelve solid hours, until Sissel finally gets a break at 6pm. She then heads over to her only friend, retired mage Jouane Manette in Rorik's Manor who secretly teaches her magic tricks so she can defend herself. At 8pm, with nothing better to do, Sissel reluctantly returns to the house, where she stays until her bedtime at midnight. Sissel wears a set of child's clothes with a pair of shoes. She carries a variety of food and toysa belted tunic and the key to the house.
Even though her life in Rorikstead is hard, Sissel has hopes and dreams for the future, saying, "I wish I could be an adventurer like you, and go wherever I want.
He was old and gray, but he wasn't scary. She also reveals how she is treated by her own family with "Most days, I do all I can to stay away from my sister and my father.
The beating's the same from either one. Jouane is teaching me magic. He says I'm real good. During the twelve long hours of bullying, Britte and Sissel may stop and have the following conversations:.
Britte : "You're going to get it, Sissel! What did I do? Now you're in big trouble! Now leave me alone! Britte : "Look at you! You're as filthy as a pig in a pen!
Please consider turning it on! Remember Me. Work Search: tip: words No, no no no, I-I just became Archmage. There is no way in Oblivion that I'm this, this Dragonborn, thing! That's a stupid coincidence, it must be!
Sam nodded sagely, stroking his chin. Ferdin Acturvard wants a nice, simple life.
Free of the stresses and pains of his sordid childhood and ready to start a new life. Sure, he started life off on the wrong foot, but now that he has become the Archmage of the College of Winterhold, along with other rather wonderful benefits, the Breton can't possibly see anything but a comfortable life on the horizon.
What if the Dragonborn was an abused child living in Rorikstead? What would happen if a ten-year-old hero of legend went on adventures? What if Marcurio accidentally got saddled with a wizard kid? And, most importantly, could the Dragonborn domesticate a chaurus? Or: the adventures of the Dragonkid, before and after she is adopted by Marcurio. It's a wild ride. Featuring druid magic, a ninja-sword, convoluted family trees that make everyone in Skyrim related, generous heapings of crack, er, skooma, the priestdom of Dibella who have absolutely nothing to do with tavern whores!

When he is not working on his farm, Lemkil can be found in Frostfruit Inn complaining about his daughters. His wife died while giving birth.
According to dialogue from Sissel and Britte, it is implied that Lemkil is abusive to them. Due to this, he apparently has a rather negative reputation in Rorikstead. Lemkil is a possible target for the Companions ' quest. He will purchase potatoesleekscabbagesgourds and wheat from the Dragonborn. Erik : "I'm not saying it's my business, but I have to ask.
Why are you so cruel to your little girls? How about you keep your nose out of it? And what would a witless oaf like you know about raising children? Jouane : "Good day, Lemkil. I saw some nice dresses for your little girls while I was in Whiterun. I'd be happy to purchase them, if you like.
If my girls deserve something nice, it'll be their father who buys it. Mralki : "Your daughters are growing up fast, Lemkil. Seems like only yesterday they were newborn babes. This is your own flesh and blood you're talking about. Rorik : "Those little girls of yours are growing like weeds, Lemkil.

Their father, Lemkiloften complains about how little his children help him with his farm. Sissel lost her mother at a young age and gets pushed around by her twin sister. She is also beaten by her abusive father, who insults her and says she is "good for nothing at all. Sissel has no friends of her age to play with. She is learning magic from Jouane Manettewho says she seems to possess a talent for it, and talks about visions of a kind, elderly dragon — most likely a reference to Paarthurnaxleader of the Greybeards.
It seems that she is abused by both her father and Britte, because she says the beatings are the same from either one of them. I hate you. I hate you forever and ever and ever" the next time she is approached.
If Lemkil is slain, she will appear at Honorhall Orphanage sometime afterwards with Britte, and will be a candidate for adoption if Hearthfire is installed. Britte "You're gonna get it Sissel! What did I do? Now you're in big trouble. Now leave me alone! Sissel: "Jouane? The next time we meet, do you think maybe you could teach me some fire magic? Nothing dangerous! Maybe a candle lighting spell? Do you want the entire village to learn our secrets?
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you. It's fine, child. It's fine. But we must be cautious, hmm? What we do, the things I teach you.
The others wouldn't understand. I just get so excited thinking about it. Do some fire magic? Most certainly not.
